“Barletta Heavy Division (BHD) has been a great business partner to the MBTA… The Bridge and Structures Department has BHD under contract for the delivery of the Six Bridge Design-Build Rail Replacement Project (Bridge Bundle), MBTA Contract H91CN01. The project uses accelerated bridge construction techniques and methods to install these bridges over a sequence of highly coordinated track outages and diversions.  BHD’s technical ability as heavy civil contractor and design innovation is at the top of the industry, however their practical approach to plan and execute the work is one of their greatest strengths.  The BHD team is a highly skilled design build contractor, their ability to coordinate and collaborate with the MBTA project team, field staff and our Commuter Rail Operations group and Keolis (Train Operator) is second to none. Their knowledge and ability to understand working around rail traffic, safe track protections, creative approach to sequence work and processes to obtain access is one of the major reasons why this project delivery was so successful.”
