—Amy Getchell, MassDOT Project Manager, Route 79/I-195 Interchange & Braga Bridge D/B

I wanted to convey both my personal thanks and that of the MBTA to you and your staff for the work you did last weekend during the blizzard. The last minute planning and logistics to mobilize was challenging and the work itself cold and physically demanding. It shows your commitment to the MBTA and the work we do together. I appreciate your partnership and willingness to step up during the most challenging times to solve problems together.

- Katie J. Choe, Chief of Capital Delivery, MBTA

The damage dealt by the derailment at Columbia Junction (JFK/UMass) destroyed signal equipment in the most complex location anywhere on the property.

I was impressed particularly by the speed at which your team arrived onsite, organized itself according to the scope of work, and immediately began remedial efforts. Under the circumstances of emergency response efforts, quality in some cases cannot necessarily be delivered to a high degree due to time and other external constraints; however, this was not the case for Barletta. Thanks to the men and women of Barletta and your company's commitment to excellence in construction, our signal system has been brought back to full functionality and in record time, and for that I genuinely commend you.

- Joseph T. McNall, Director, Signal & Communications Dept., MBTA

“Barletta Heavy Division (BHD) has been a great business partner to the MBTA… The Bridge and Structures Department has BHD under contract for the delivery of the Six Bridge Design-Build Rail Replacement Project (Bridge Bundle), MBTA Contract H91CN01. The project uses accelerated bridge construction techniques and methods to install these bridges over a sequence of highly coordinated track outages and diversions.  BHD’s technical ability as heavy civil contractor and design innovation is at the top of the industry, however their practical approach to plan and execute the work is one of their greatest strengths.  The BHD team is a highly skilled design build contractor, their ability to coordinate and collaborate with the MBTA project team, field staff and our Commuter Rail Operations group and Keolis (Train Operator) is second to none. Their knowledge and ability to understand working around rail traffic, safe track protections, creative approach to sequence work and processes to obtain access is one of the major reasons why this project delivery was so successful.”

- Bradley S. Nicoll, PE, Deputy Chief of Bridge/Structures, MBTA – Capital Delivery

“I have come to expect good and safe work from Barletta. It’s often overlooked and not mentioned so I wanted to say thank you for keeping up with the standards we have come to expect from your team. Over the 4 weekends on the Red Line the Barletta team once again proved to me they are the safest and most complete contractor we have working for us. From start to finish Barletta employees were on top of their game.”

- Thomas E. Crowley, Division Chief Construction / Logistics Rail Operations, MBTA

“Firstly, your company has done a fantastic job on the Casey Overpass Project. My property abuts the Arborway yard which your company used as a staging area. Recently you began clean-up of that yard and I must say the yard has never been so clean (even prior to the project). I was so impressed and want to commend you and your company and the great job you did on the Casey Project, but especially the way your men conduct themselves. It’s been a pleasure dealing with your company.”

- Rosetta Martini, Jamaica Plain MA

“I wish to commend your team on not only the quality of their work, but the level of professionalism which was exhibited throughout this project. At times the team was presented with unforeseen issues and worked with our designers and engineers to find solutions in an efficient and practical manner, without delays in overall project schedule.  Barletta's thoroughness and attention to detail produced a finished product that seamlessly blended into the existing landscape and helped beautify an area of the Boston Common. It was a pleasure having Barletta involved in this project.”

- Robert Mulcahy, Project Manager, Friends of the Public Garden

"Braga Bridge mega project will bring many benefits to Fall River, but none may be as noticeable as restoring all three lanes on the Braga Bridge. I continue to be impressed at the pace of construction [BHD, O&G, Aetna and VHB] and I’m absolutely thrilled that we are achieving these major milestones ahead of schedule and look forward to the restoration of lanes on the westbound side.”

- Michael Rodrigues, Massachusetts State Senator

The over $227 million investment in Route 79 and Braga Bridge Project will have a lasting and meaningful impact for Fall River. The news that for the first time since 2001 we have all three lanes heading eastbound is exciting, and I couldn’t be happier with the progress of construction.

—Thomas Tinlin, Former MassDOT Highway Division Administrator on Route 79/I-195 Interchange and Braga Bridge D/B, MA (Commenting during project construction)
