This project Barletta performed included bringing the station up to ADA accessibility requirements in addition to other improvements. Those improvements entailed: replacement of the platform canopy roof, construction of new elevated platforms, reconstruction of the interior and exterior stairs, installation of elevators, and upgrades to the station’s signage, electrical, communications, fire protection, catenary, and alarm systems. The work of the project also included the rehabilitation, widening, and reconstruction of parapets, decks, walls, stairways, arches and railings of Boston’s historic 100-year old Lechmere Viaduct, which carries the MBTA’s Green Line across the Charles River.
