As part of MBTA’s ongoing track repair and maintenance program, Barletta performed full depth track replacement at North Station (Orange Line), Park St (Red Line), and Downtown Crossing (Red Line) Stations. The Work included, is as follows; demolition and removal of all old track, ties and ballast [to the bottom of the subway tunnel]; then, the replacement of same, with delivery and installation of all new ballast, ties and track in the area. This logistically challenging Work was performed continuously, around-the-clock, during complete Station Closures and Track Diversions from Friday Night to Monday morning. Work during all 6 Diversions was successfully completed, so that all usual subway service was up-and-running, normally, by the start of service, 5AM Monday mornings.
