Project Details

Project Value: $16M

Located on the MBTA Commuter Rail’s Lowell Line, this reconstruction project called for the removal and replacement of the bridges with wider structures to accommodate the re-located Commuter Rail tracks and future MBTA Green Line Extension tracks. The Harvard Street Bridge carried Commuter Rail, Amtrak and Pan Am traffic; the Medford Street Bridge carried Commuter Rail and Pan Am traffic. Barletta completed an allocated 260 hours of phased construction during weekend shutdowns within 109 hours, minimizing disruptions to MBTA line operations and commuters.
