This project was a part of the MBTA initiative to bring the track and signal system between Beaconsfield Station and Riverside Station into a state of good repair. Track improvements consist of the renewal of approximately 24,000 feet of mainline track, replacement of special track work, platform edge reconstruction, grade crossing reconstruction, and overhead catenary adjustments over special track work. Work includes track demo and salvage, construction of running rail (CWR), emergency guard rail, and restraining rail on timber ties and ballast, and surfacing and aligning of new track.
