Project Value: $11M
The old bridge that was replaced had very low clearance (10’-6”), a short span, and was frequently struck by trucks trying to travel beneath it. Barletta replaced the single bridge with two twin bridges that increased the clearance to 13’-3” and increased the span to allow for better visibility as well as sidewalks for safe pedestrian access. The replacement work required the track profile to be raised approximately 21” and thrown horizontally up to 3 feet. The track work was performed during a weekend shutdown of revenue service and was completed 4 hours ahead of schedule during a 53-hour shutdown. The track reconstruction also included new subgrade, ballast and 2,000 feet of track.
