As the Design-Build entity for this Design-Build project in Quincy’s Blue Hills Reservation, Barletta coordinated the work of three specialty design firms; VHB, SGH and GEI. The Covered Storage Facility replaced the former Blue Hills Reservoir with secure, underground storage for 20-million-gallons of water. The twin cylindrical concrete tanks, each 240 feet in diameter with 32-foot-high walls, were constructed using both reinforced cast-in-place concrete and precast, pre-stressed concrete components.
